Stand beneath the shadow of the moon as the Total Solar Eclipse sweeps across the Egyptian sky on 2 August 2027 — one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles on Earth, viewed from a private desert observation camp near the centre line of totality.

Then go further. This journey takes you deep into Egypt's Western Desert: remote oases that most travellers never reach, off-road adventures through the otherworldly formations of the Black and White Desert, a night in a hidden cave system, and two nights glamping under a sky full of stars. It ends where every great Egypt journey should — at the Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum.

And you won't have to trade comfort for adventure to get there. Between the wild stretches of desert, this trip returns you each evening to some of Egypt's most distinctive places to stay the award-winning Al Tarfa Desert Sanctuary in Dakhla, a stylish eco-retreat in Bahariya, a carefully appointed glamping camp beneath the stars, and two nights at the legendary Cairo Marriott on Gezira Island. This is Egypt's Western Desert for travellers who care as much about where they rest as where they explore.

This is Egypt beyond the mainstream: for travellers who want the eclipse of a lifetime, real desert adventure — and to sleep well doing it.

**Places for the 2027 eclipse are limited — book early to secure your spot.**

**Al Tarfa Desert Sanctuary Lodge & Spa** — Our home in the Dakhla Oasis: an award-winning eco-lodge set within a large private oasis surrounded by palm trees, gardens and the landscapes of the Western Desert. With just 20 rooms and suites, Al Tarfa offers a peaceful, authentic atmosphere rather than the feel of a conventional hotel — a restaurant, lounge, spa and swimming pool included. One of Egypt's most distinctive addresses, and reason enough on its own to visit Dakhla.

**Tzila Bahariya** — In the Bahariya Oasis, a spacious eco-friendly retreat combining comfort with the character of the Western Desert, and an ideal base for exploring the Black and White Desert.

**Desert Glamping — Dabuka** — 12 well-appointed glamping tents deep in the Western Desert: proper beds and real comfort under canvas, for two nights spent beneath a sky full of stars, far from anywhere.

**Cairo Marriott Hotel, Zamalek** — Our final two nights: a 5-star property on Gezira Island, set within the historic grounds of the former Gezira Palace, combining unique historical atmosphere with the comfort of a major international hotel — pool, restaurants and lounges, and the lively neighbourhood of Zamalek just outside. A grand finale to match the journey that led here.
