On 2 August 2027, the Moon's shadow crosses Egypt's Western Desert, turning the Sahara dark in the middle of the day.
This is a journey for travellers who want more than a few minutes of totality.
Begin in Cairo with the Pyramids of Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, then head west into the Sahara by 4x4. Explore the Black Desert, the extraordinary white chalk landscapes of the White Desert and hidden caves before settling into the desert for the most spectacular part of the journey.
And the timing offers another astronomical highlight.
Around 30–31 July, the Southern Delta Aquariids and Alpha Capricornids are both active. Under the dark Egyptian desert sky, you may see meteors and occasional bright fireballs alongside the Milky Way and the summer night sky.
By eclipse day, you are already deep in the Western Desert.
No long transfer on the morning of the eclipse.
No city skyline.
No stadium crowds.
Instead, an open desert horizon, dark skies and the solar corona emerging above the Sahara.

Important information – Suneclipse 2027 - Dabuka
Suneclipse Viewing location
The eclipse viewing takes place in the Black Desert area with an overnight stay in a hotel. Guests are transferred to the observation site approximately one hour before the start of totality.
The location offers natural elevated viewpoints with completely unobstructed visibility of the sky. Sun protection is provided, and ground mats are available on site. For maximum comfort, guests are advised to lie down during the eclipse to fully enjoy the experience.

This is a relaxed, open viewing setup designed for comfort and flexibility in a remote desert environment.
For all bookings for the Sun Eclipse 2027 in Egypt, special payment and cancellation conditions apply.
Upon receipt of the booking confirmation or invoice, a deposit of 50% of the total price becomes due in between 10 working days. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 02 January 2027.
The following cancellation conditions apply:
From 05 September 2026: 50% of the total travel price
From 01 January 2027: 96% of the total travel price
Please note that international and domestic flights are not included in the quoted price. Airlines typically release their flight schedules and fares approximately one year in advance; therefore, flights for July - August 2027 will become available around September 2026.
Should you wish to receive an offer for international or domestic flights, we kindly ask you to complete the flight request form on our website. Once flight options become available, we will prepare and forward an offer for your review.
