Most eclipse trips end the moment totality does. This one is just getting started.
On 2 August 2027, experience the total solar eclipse near Assiut (see eclipse location in important notes), with approximately six minutes of totality. But the eclipse is only the beginning.
After the event, leave the Nile Valley behind and travel deep into Egypt's Western Desert by 4x4. Spend seven nights surrounded by dunes, rock plateaus and vast open landscapes, far from roads, crowds and the usual tourist routes — sleeping in dome tents at a shared desert camp, with all camping equipment provided and meals cooked at the communal desert kitchen.
From the desert, continue to Kharga Oasis, visit Hibis Temple and Bagawat, before returning to Cairo for the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids of Giza.
This is not an eclipse tour with a desert excursion added. It is a 15-day journey through a very different side of Egypt — with one of the rarest natural events on Earth at its centre.

Travelling the desert in high summer
Late July and August might sound like an unlikely time to head into the Western Desert — but the desert's climate behaves differently from the Nile Valley or the coast.
The air is dry rather than humid, temperatures drop noticeably after sunset, and the heat is far easier to manage than in a humid climate at the same reading on the thermometer.
Our daily rhythm is built around this: early starts and evening activity outside the hottest hours, rest and shade built into the middle of the day, and camps positioned with shelter in mind.
Travelling the desert successfully in summer isn't about avoiding the heat — it's about working with it, and that's exactly how this itinerary is paced.

Know Before You Go — Egypt, August 2027
Suneclipse location
Located on the desert edge near Assiut, almost directly on the path of totality, this SunEclipse site offers a longer totality duration than Luxor. The camp is fully equipped as a dedicated desert day camp with all facilities on site. The drive from the hotel to the camp takes approximately 1.5 hours.

After the eclipse, a desert lunch is served before the return transfer. This timing helps avoid the hottest part of the day, with desert temperatures typically more comfortable than in the Nile Valley.

PAYMENT TERMS
Upon receipt of the invoice, a deposit of 50% of the total price is due within 10 working days. The
booking is only confirmed once this deposit has been received. This deposit is non-refundable.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 2 January 2027.
CANCELLATION POLICY
The following cancellation fees apply:
Cancellations before 1 January 2027: the deposit (50% of the total travel price) is forfeited and
non-refundable
Cancellations from 1 January 2027: 96% of the total travel price
FLIGHTS
Please note that international and domestic flights are not included in the quoted price. Airlines
typically release their flight schedules and fares approximately one year in advance; therefore, flights
for July–August 2027 will become available around September 2026.
Should you wish to receive an offer for international or domestic flights, we kindly ask you to complete
the flight request form on our website. Once flight options become available, we will prepare and
forward an offer for your review.
Please be aware that submitting the request form does not constitute a booking order. We will only
proceed with a flight reservation upon receiving your explicit written approval.
Furthermore, please note that flights are an external service provided solely by the airline, and Dabuka
does not have control over airline-related matters. Any delays, schedule changes, or baggage issues fall
under the responsibility of the operating carrier. We therefore recommend obtaining appropriate travel
insurance should you wish to be covered for such circumstances.
