Don’t Just See the 2027 Eclipse – Experience It Your Way

As the Total Solar Eclipse of 2 August 2027 gets closer, more and more hotels, cruises and travel programs are becoming fully booked. In some areas, the remaining availability is already becoming increasingly expensive.

But this does not mean that experiencing the eclipse in Egypt has to become an unaffordable luxury.

At Dabuka Travel Visions, we have never believed that there is only one way to experience Egypt.

For nearly 30 years, Dabuka has specialised in looking beyond the obvious and creating journeys outside the mainstream.

Egypt is far more than a standard itinerary between Cairo, Luxor and Aswan – and the Total Solar Eclipse of 2027 gives us the opportunity to combine one of the most extraordinary natural events of our lifetime with very different ways of discovering the country.

Don’t Just See the 2027 Eclipse – Experience It Your Way

More Than Just an Eclipse

Some travellers may want to combine the eclipse with Egypt's great cultural highlights.

Others may prefer a few relaxing days by the Mediterranean or the Red Sea before or after the event.

And for those looking for something completely different, Egypt still offers vast landscapes, remote oases and experiences far beyond the traditional tourist routes.

Our aim is therefore not to create just one eclipse tour.

We are developing a range of different possibilities – from Premium experiences to Standard and more simple, adventure-oriented journeys.

The common element will always be the same:

A carefully planned opportunity to experience the Total Solar Eclipse of 2 August 2027 – while discovering Egypt in a way that suits you.

More Than Just an Eclipse

Egypt Does Not Always Work Like Other Destinations

Planning travel in Egypt requires patience, flexibility and local experience.

Things that can sometimes be arranged quickly in other countries may take considerably longer here. Confirmations can change, new opportunities can suddenly appear and solutions occasionally require a completely different approach.

That is simply part of working in Egypt.

Our advantage is that we have spent decades here, building experience, local knowledge and relationships. Rather than giving up when the obvious options become unavailable, we continue looking for alternatives.

And sometimes, the best solution is found outside the mainstream.

Egypt Does Not Always Work Like Other Destinations

Looking Towards Middle Egypt

One of these alternatives is Middle Egypt.

We have recently been able to create additional capacity for approximately 200–300 guests in this region. These new options are currently being finalised and we expect to publish further details on our website within the coming ten days.

For us, this is particularly exciting because Middle Egypt offers the possibility to experience the eclipse away from some of the most heavily congested areas, while also discovering a part of Egypt that many international visitors normally overlook.

Looking Towards Middle Egypt

And What About the Desert and the Oases?

The Western Desert and Egypt's oases have been part of our story for much longer than Dabuka itself.

Our experience in these regions goes back around 40 years, and over the decades we have explored, travelled and operated in some of Egypt's most extraordinary landscapes.

Normally, we would recommend autumn, winter or spring for oasis and desert travel.

Summer is hot. Very hot.

We would never pretend otherwise.

But every year, we receive requests from travellers who want to experience the desert even during the height of summer – sometimes including hiking and outdoor activities.

For those who understand the conditions, are properly prepared and are willing to accept the challenge for a limited number of days, the desert can still become part of an eclipse journey.

This may allow us to create additional places and additional possibilities that would not exist within the conventional hotel-based eclipse programs.

It is not for everyone. But for the right traveller, it could become an unforgettable part of the journey.

And What About the Desert and the Oases?

We Are Still Working on More Possibilities

Accommodation is only one part of the challenge.

We are also continuing to work on transportation and domestic flights to make the different programs as practical and comfortable as possible.

Together with our partners — including Beluga Tours, who also offer their own Solar Eclipse Egypt programs — we are looking at the available flight connections and trying to find the most convenient options for our guests.

If the existing scheduled connections do not fit your individual itinerary, you can also use the Flight Request form on our website to let us know what you are looking for. We will then check the possibilities for you.

However, as we mentioned before:

In Egypt, the clocks sometimes work differently.

Flight schedules, availability and domestic connections can change, sometimes at short notice. That is why we prefer to keep several options open and work on the best solution as the date gets closer.

A solution that might take one phone call elsewhere can occasionally require ten conversations, several visits and a great deal of patience here.

But this is exactly why local experience matters.

We are continuing to develop, negotiate and adapt.

And over the coming weeks, we expect to announce additional programs and opportunities for travellers who still want to experience the Total Solar Eclipse of 2027 in Egypt – without necessarily paying the extreme prices that are beginning to appear in some of the more obvious locations.

We Are Still Working on More Possibilities

There Is Still Time – But Flexibility Will Be Important

The message is simple.

If you have not yet booked your journey for the Total Solar Eclipse of 2027, do not assume that all possibilities have disappeared.

Some of the traditional options may already be full or becoming expensive.

But Egypt is a large country.

And sometimes the most interesting journey begins when you stop following the standard route.

For nearly 30 years, Dabuka Travel Visions has been doing exactly that.

Over the coming days and weeks, we will introduce new programs, new locations and new possibilities.

The eclipse is only one day. Your journey through Egypt can be something much bigger.
